Black Friday Favourites

Hola! It's been a long time, but I am back again. I can't believe I haven't posted since August! Uni has just taken over my life at the moment, I have learnt that the final year of a Fashion degree definitely is hard! My posts have been and probably will be a bit sporadic for the next few months until I graduate, so bare with! I'm so happy to have taken the time out to start blogging again though! I have missed it so darn much, it's unreal! But yeah, time to stop all the idle chatter and get into the topic of my next post...!!

Black Friday is back again people, meaning one thing... It's time to start shopping! I have been trawling the Interwebs for the best deals you can take advantage of today and save a whole lot of dolla (which is good for everyone right?!) Here are some items that caught my eye from brands such as Boohoo, Topshop and Nasty Gal. Happy spending!

Boohoo - 50% Everything on Site!

ASOS - 20% off Everything with the code: GOGOGO

Nasty Gal - 30% off Black Styles

Topshop - Up to 50% Off

How to Be Confident and Not Compare Yourself to Others

It does take a long time to become confident within yourself - whether that be what you look like naked or if you are beautiful enough within the current society of photoshopped models and celebrities. I have literally just gotten comfortable with it myself. It is so hard to stop thinking things like 'I wish I had Kylie Jenner's lips' or 'I would love to have Taylor Swift's lengthy pins'. Everyone has body parts that they are not happy with, you aren't the minority! I struggled for years with my stomach, convinced that it wasn't flat enough and I looked fat despite eating any more than anyone else! A few years later, I am comfortable with the idea of wearing crop tops and showing my belly button! You will feel the same eventually, trust me!

But you don't need a random celebrity's features to be beautiful in your own right. Instead, divert your thoughts. Maybe think more about more curvy celebrities that rock their shape such as Beyonce or Demi Lovato.

Everyone is also different within the style choices they make on a daily basis. It is up to you what you choose to wear, not anyone else. If someone else doesn't like what you wear, they can sod off. After all, its your style, not theirs. If you want to change up the style of look you express every so often, that is okay too! It has definitely took me a while to find my own personal style, but now that I have I feel better than ever. I have finally found myself, and you can too!

You have got to remember that beauty is not what defines you anyway - it is more to do with your personal achievements and goals that are most important in your life, not how you look or what other people do. It is also difficult though to not compare yourself to others in a similar situation to you in life and look how much more intelligent they are or if they can do certain things better... All of that doesn't matter. It's what YOU do that counts most of all, just think about that.

Everyone isn't perfect. Everyone has flaws, whether that be physically or personality wise. So whenever you start to compare yourself to one of your friends or a classmate, think about however perfect they may seem to you on the outside - they have insecurities and fears just like you. Yes, they may be able to complete a task better than you can but you have strengths in other areas. You deserve your place on a course just as much as they do. That person may seem more outgoing and confident than you, but you can improve this if you just believe in yourself. You won't be the exact same as anyone else in this world, and that is totally fine. You wouldn't want to be!

At the end of the day, EVERYONE is BEAUTIFUL. Don't forget that.

5 Tips to Conquer Depressive Thoughts

At some point in their lives, everyone goes through a period where they are not feeling themselves due to stress, work or even just life in general. It definitely takes its toll on us all sometimes. Recently, I have been going through a period where I have felt this way. I have felt bored, hopeless, useless and even fed up. I have gone through a time where I have not been motivated to do anything somedays and felt uninspired in terms of creative ideas with my uni work and this blog. Sometimes you need advice in order to pick yourself up again and get through this - and it works, honestly! I got inspired to write this post as I wished I got this advice sooner and you can live life to the fullest again!

1. Think Positively.
I know it sounds a bit cliche, but honestly, it works. Think of all the things in your life that you are thankful for, whether that be a supportive family, good friends or that you have aced that last exam! Whatever it is, take a moment to really be grateful for what you have.

2. Talk About Your Feelings.
I know it may seem like a hard thing to do - I mean the last thing you want to do is express to your best friend about how depressed you are and feel sorry for yourself. They will give you advice on how to amend the situation and how to feel better. I know it seems scary, but after all they are the people closest to you so will therefore understand. They have probably been in a similar situation as well but  have felt too embarrassed to mention it - so talk!

3. Get Outside.
This is one thing that really helps your general wellbeing. It doesn't have to be a 5 mile trek! Only a small walk of 20 minutes in the fresh air will really help to boost your morale and you will also be getting fit in the process! Spending days indoors staring at a screen will not help you mentally.

4. Eat a Healthier Diet.
Swap that Dominos order for a salad filled with lots of nutrients and vitamins and honestly you will feel the benefits right away. You won't get as drowsy early on in the evening and you will have more energy as a result. It doesn't mean you have to do this everyday, just gradually introduce healthier foods into your diet and you will feel a lot better in yourself.

5. Plan a Day Out with Your Best Friend.
This is an obvious one, but going out and socialising really does boost your mood and make you happier. It's easy to want to sit in all day with Netflix but it is good to see people sometimes and not be a total recluse!

Hopefully this will help you to gain a sense of wellbeing again and realise you are BEAUTIFUL! You can do this!

Beauty Lustlist

These are some of the beauty products I have been lusting over in the past couple of weeks! I am particularly in love with the MAC Lipstick in Bronze Shimmer. It is such a perfect traditional lip shade from summer to winter and I'm in love! Another top product shown is the Urban Decay Priming Spray. I have heard good things about it; with its pore and oil reducing qualities. Definitely going to be purchased at some point! I am also on the hunt for a foundation, one that isn't too cakey and looks flawless. The Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation seems to be a bloggers holy grail at the moment so may give this a whirl also! I x

Pretty in Monochrome

I visited Shoreditch a couple of weeks ago. I would happily say that the area is one of my favourite places to explore around London. I really love the grungy feel of the place and how gritty it is compared to the more central spots of the capital. I am loving this outfit recently and have been wearing it non-stop! I love the idea of layering at the moment in order to create a unique feel to an outfit. My most recent purchases are the choker and the trousers, I really like how they are so quirky and edgy and give off a grungy vibe. Also, these trousers are perfect for sofa days in front of Netflix!

Camo is the New Black

I have really been loving vintage clothing recently, whether that be jackets, trousers or dresses! I love the idea that you can find something totally unique in a vintage shop to what is seen on the high street and therefore makes you look individual. When I visited New York a few months ago, I just had to pick up this oversized camo jacket in one of the many vintage shops. I had been hunting for one for a while, but after spending many hours searching I had found my jacket... and it was only $26 (what a bargain!). I am going to be wearing this jacket to death during the gradual transition into the autumnal weather (boo!). It's such a great stand out piece for your wardrobe, not to mention a staple.

Orange Daze

Top  - Primark / Jeans - Primark / Jacket - eBay / Scarf - Topshop / Shoes - eBay

In the last few days, the weather in the UK has been dreary and drab, so I decided to cheer myself up with a pop of colour to my outfit - and it most definitely made a difference to my mood! I have been loving this pair of orange jeans recently as they really are a head turner. Everyone says about Primark jeans being of poor quality, but I have owned this pair for years and they have served me well so far. I have styled them up with this inked denim jacket, which is hugely oversized (obsessed!) and my wedged trainers which always adds a sports luxe vibe to any outfit and so much coolness. It may seem a bit out of character for this time of year to be layering, but I'm finding it a brilliant transitional outfit to take over to autumn!

August Fashion Wishlist

These are all pieces I am currently lusting over on the old interwebs (or internet!). A lot of these pieces featured are currently right on trend now for the S/S16 season such as metallic materials, the crossed style bodysuits which are all the range and grunge. I'm sure that they will follow through into this A/W also. I'm so obsessed! In terms of my particular favourites, I'm really loving the metallic silver boots and the pink loafers! Such a 80's vibe! Topshop is killing it right now with their shoes range! Also, I only found out about Anya Hindmarch a month or two ago.. where have I been?! Such a brill designer! I am going to make it my mission to own one of her bags one day! Her designs are so up my street!

August is also my birthday month (in 9 days to be precise!), so that means I am going to be spending money (most definitely on some of these pieces!). My wardrobe definitely needs an overhaul!

Cake, Glorious Cake!

I am now back in Cornwall after a great week in London with one of my closest friends. Can I just say that this cake was definitely up there with one of the best I have had in my lifetime?! These pictures were taken at the Natural History Museum in Cromwell Road, South West London (next to the Victoria & Albert!), which I went to to take some photographs for research for uni for my final year project in September.

This beautiful piece of cake was consumed during our little coffee break before heading out of the exhibition! Despite the slightly more expensive price, it was so worth it! This cake was scrumdiddlyumptious and would totally recommend it to any future visitors of the museum!

Summer Nights

We have actually had good weather for the last few days in England (it took long enough!) After spending every day catching a few rays being out and about, me and my family decided to have a barbecue last night on the beautiful moors, which are situated not far from where I live. It is a tradition for us to go up here a couple of times every summer season. It definitely beats sitting in the back garden of your house. The scenery there is absolutely stunning and cannot be missed!

Even at 5PM the weather was glorious with temperatures still sitting at around 22 degrees, even though the strength of the sun had died down. After travelling for what would have been 10 minutes, we unloaded the car of deckchairs, a table, the disposable barbecue and of course, the food! After basking in the temperature for a while, the smoky scent of the food cooking drifted up into the clouds above us.

When the weather is like this, it really makes you want to venture outside and explore the world. You really take things like this for granted when you are inside, stuck to your laptop screen. The scenery around us was so splendid, and it is just on our doorstep. I think only a total of 3 cars went past us during our evening on the moors, which was blissful. I will definitely make a point of aiming to visit this place more!
